so season 4.5 started today with "Sometimes a Great Nation", overall a very bleak episode, as I figure the remaining 9 will be. It seems to reveal that everyone on earth was a cylon and they were wiped out, which somewhat gells with my theory of cylon scouts leaving earth and deciding to forget they are machines, although it seems like it was perhaps cylon scientists who were selected for some experimental project of resurection. The question becomes did the cyclons wipe themselves out, or did humans intervene? I think humans have been gone for a long time, the cylon children are doomed to a neverending loop of self-destruction and rebirth.

finally saw this movie Monday night -- really creepy little vampire movie based on a Swedish novel. Well acted, subtle special effects for the most part, with the exception of the goofy cat attack -- was I supposed to laugh? And interesting story -- was Eli's "dad" really her dad, or was he an old boyfriend, basically what Oskar will become in 60 years? Of course there is already an english language version that will lose all of the atmosphere and replace it with more gore and fancy quick-edits and quickly be forgotten.

training

training is going well, I overtrained a bit too much this weekend, rather than a total of 3.5 hours at medium HR, I managed to do 6 hours of hill climbing, which exhausted me. I did another 1.5 hours today during lunch, 2 laps around town lake on my vanilla preserved my legs and allowed me to maintain a consistent HR.

off to Pure Austin tommorrow to start getting officially trained. Tired of the boom bust cycle of riding a lot, getting stuck in a release that takes forever and losing fitness gains. Goal is to get back to my 2006 weight or less, and get enough cardio fitness and strength to be competitive in the spring TMBRA series in either SS open or sport, and eventually try some Cat 5 road racing.

v8 addiction

since Audi/VW in their infinite corporate wisdom decided to only give the US the 2.0T A4 Avant in *auto only*, I am going to look to BMW for my V8 addiction, no need for quattro down here, rear wheel drive will be a bit more fun. It would still be nice to hold onto my S4 wagon. come on IPO..

I dont have cable, and I dont plan on getting it anytime soon. If I hear about a great show, I'll rent it or download it these days. Right now, I am catching up on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia",based on my sister Thea's recommendation, which I find to be the most hilarious show since Arrested Development.
